We will tell you where to spend the New Year in Israel in 2021, how much the ticket costs and what to do on New Year's holidays in Tel Aviv, Jerusalem and the coast of the Red and Dead Seas.

Israel, which "according to its passport" is only 70 years old, is a great option for a cool New Year and Christmas holidays! In what other country can you manage to swim in the sea in a week, light up in clubs, heal joints and be at the birthplace of Christ? 🙂

Where to celebrate the New Year in Israel 2021?

We went to Israel in December last year, and, frankly, as if we were in another world. 🙂 Everyone should feel this unique and unlike anything else, the atmosphere of Jewish life and culture, and the New Year is the right time for that. If in doubt, here's a list of interesting destinations in December. And in secret, very soon we are planning to fly there again, most likely on a burning tour, if we are lucky

Although the country is small in size, nevertheless, there are at least 4 locations where you can spend your winter holidays.

  • Noisy and partying Tel Aviv (Mediterranean coast),
  • More restrained and "spiritual" Jerusalem,
  • Typically beachfront Eilat (Red Sea coast),
  • And the Dead Sea, where the holidays are celebrated for the most part by those who are well over 60. 🙂

As you can see, there are three seas to choose from in the Holy Land. True, only the Red and Dead Sea are suitable for a beach holiday in the winter months. Probably, only thrill-seekers will want to swim in the Mediterranean.

It is better to search and book tours to Israel on the proven largest aggregator sites, where the cheapest offers from all tour operators are collected:

The weather in Israel for the New Year, despite possible rains, favors vacationers, on clear days it is sunny and quite warm. The air temperature remains on average + 13 ° С ... + 19 ° С, the warmest of all in Eilat (up to + 24 ° С), located in the southern part of the country.

In Tel Aviv, the temperature fluctuates between + 15 ° C ... + 19 ° C, it is quite windy on the coast. But there are days when the air warms up to + 21 ° C ... + 22 ° C, and the Israelis go out to sunbathe or play matkot on the beach. Of course, there is no talk of bathing. The exception is notorious surfers trying to catch the ice wave. 🙂 But this weather is ideal for walking around the city. After all, it is very hot in Israel in summer and you have to run from one air conditioner to another.

A selection of the best hotels in Tel Aviv hotels according to the reviews of tourists, see on this page.

In Jerusalem, the thermometer in December-January shows an average of + 9 ° C ... + 13 ° C. For sightseeing and pilgrimage routes - just right! Of the 4 days that we had a chance to spend in this city, 3 were sunny, and we wandered around holy places in some sweatshirts.

At the Dead Sea, in particular, in the resort of Ein Bokek, about + 16 ° C ... + 20 ° C. We still took a chance to swim at this time of the year (although, we are not alone 🙂). Well, what can I say, it's cold to go into the water, you get used to it not immediately, but it's fun. Once or twice you can swim, or rather lie on the surface.

Of course, holidays in Israel for the New Year is not only about the sea and shrines. There are January sales in Tel Aviv, excursions to kibbutzim and the Palestinian territories (Bethlehem), ski slopes of Mount Hermon and all the local colors in the form of traditional oriental bazaars and streets of Jerusalem on Shabbat - there is something to fill every minute!

By the way, when is the New Year celebrated in Israel. The traditional Jewish holiday is called Rosh Hashanah and falls on the beginning of autumn (the exact date is calculated according to the Jewish calendar). In 2020, it drops out on September 18 - 20.

As for the secular celebration, for sure the reviews of tourists about their holidays in Israel for the New Year will not tell you the main thing: the Israelis are completely indifferent to this exciting night from December 31 to January 1. In the country, these are normal working days, and mostly only migrants - immigrants from the former USSR - and vacationers are having fun.

Holidays in Israel: tours for the New Year 2021

Where, if not here, you can feel the true Christmas atmosphere? Tours to Israel for the New Year 2021 are rich in experience and quite affordable, especially if you use early booking. Bought a ticket 2-3 months before the holiday - saved about 20-30% of its cost a week before the departure date. 🙂

The price is indicated for one person when buying a tour for two

Despite the fact that winter is considered a low tourist season in Israel, the number of tourists at the end of December is traditionally very high. Not surprisingly, thousands of pilgrims rush to the promised land on the eve of the Christmas holidays, wishing to visit the holy places. Accordingly, the price of tours to Israel these days increases somewhat. In order not to overpay for the trip, start planning your trip right now (while the prices are kept at around 75,000 rubles for two).

Inexpensive tours to Israel in December and January 2021 with a departure from Moscow can be found on the Travelata and Level.Travel services. Here are collected various options for package vacations in Netanya, Jerusalem, Eilat, Tel Aviv, Haifa and other resorts, but most importantly - they are all from reliable tour operators. In addition, you can try to find and last-minute tours to Israel just before the holidays, but if you're lucky :).

Tours to Eilat from Moscow

Holidays in Eilat will be of interest to fans of beach relaxation - the Red Sea in December is still quite warm. In addition, connoisseurs of privacy will love the absence of crowds on the beaches.

However, if you prefer a truly warm sea, but without the summer heat, we recommend purchasing a tour to Eilat in November - this month is the most comfortable for visiting the resort.

Sunny December weather creates excellent conditions for sightseeing and educational leisure.

    Things to do?
  • visit the Timna Valley National Park, on the territory of which the legendary mines of King Solomon and a picturesque road made of red asphalt are located,
  • with your own eyes to see the temple of the goddess Hathor carved in stone and other natural monuments,
  • go diving and get acquainted with sea exotic in the "Underwater Observatory" park.

The New Year itself in Eilat is celebrated cheerfully and very noisy, because it is still a tourist-oriented resort. All hotels offer festive programs, and at midnight they light up the sky with colorful fireworks.

The city is also interesting from the point of view of shopping - it is a duty-free zone and makes it possible to buy good things cheaper than in other parts of Israel.

Prices for tours to Eilat are most optimal with a flight from Moscow. 1-2 months before the New Year, for example on November 15, a 7-day voucher to a 3 * hotel without meals can be purchased for 73,297 rubles for two.

Dead Sea Tours

The New Year in Israel at the Dead Sea resorts is a unique opportunity to fully relax and improve your health on the coast of one of the saltiest bodies of water on our planet. Even if you do not know how to swim at all, you absolutely do not risk drowning! In addition to the healing qualities of salts, the resort has a special air. Along the rocky shores of the lake (yes, the Dead Sea is not a sea), there are selenium-enriched thermal springs and healing mud deposits.

Despite the wellness orientation of the rest, procedures are far from the only entertainment at the resort.

    Things to do?
  • visit the ancient fortress Masada,
  • appreciate the picturesque oases and national parks of the Dead Sea,
  • admire the famous pillar of salt and Mount Sodom,
  • to tickle your nerves - lovers of adrenaline will like active recreation - snepling (descending on the ropes in the canyons) and trekking.

The most famous clinics, health centers and most of the hotels with a complex of spa treatments are located on the shore of the southern part of the lake, in the resort of Ein Bokek. Personally, we were delighted with the service at the 5 * Crowne Plaza Dead Sea, located right on the beach.

Prices for tours to Israel at the Dead Sea (all inclusive) start at 173,000 rubles for two for 9 days with accommodation in a 4 * hotel. Weekly vouchers cost from 106,000 rubles. Should we hope for last minute tours? Lucky or unlucky - you probably won't tell, but still, before buying, see if there are any such options on your dates.

In general, we recommend making an early booking, as prices for tours in December are usually higher. The closer the dates, the higher the cost. On the other hand, one can hope to the last for last minute offers. 🙂

Mediterranean Sea in Tel Aviv in December storms a little

Tours to Tel Aviv from Moscow

When purchasing a tour to Tel Aviv for the New Year holidays, it should be borne in mind that the water temperature in the Mediterranean Sea is already cold for swimming, so the rest will turn out with a cultural and educational bias. Tel Aviv is a colorful city with skyscrapers and an exciting nightlife. No wonder he earned the status of a city that does not sleep until dawn. A separate word should be said about Tel Aviv hotels: it's better not to find in Israel! Although, I must confess, prices bite.

As for the prices for tours to Tel Aviv - on the eve of the New Year holidays, they are traditionally overpriced, but you can buy a ticket cheaper if you book a hotel and tickets now. In this case, a weekly package in a 4-star hotel with breakfast will cost 83,000 rubles for two, instead of 95,000 (price one week before the New Year). If there is an opportunity to get off on a trip in just a couple of days, you can bet on last minute tours.
