There are two embankments in Sochi - noisy for extroverts and quiet for introverts. Choose where to walk!
The embankment in Sochi stretches for 2 km - from the Southern pier of the sea station to Pushkin Avenue. Due to the relief of the city, it is divided into upper and lower levels.
Lower level
The lower level is the promenade itself and the beaches. All tourists mainly live here. This is an embankment for extroverts: in the summer it is crowded on the coast, noisy, continuous trade. There are a lot of cafes and restaurants, and music is everywhere. There is even a water park. But this is exactly what many tourists need, because on the embankment they get a combo: views of the sea, souvenirs, cafes and, in general, a bustling resort life.
However, at the end of the season, when the embankment is noticeably empty, it is pleasant to walk along it and admire the sea. We were here at the end of October, when the shops are gradually closing, and had a great time.
Upper level
The upper level, or Seaside Park, or Historical Boulevard, is for introverts. It is green, quiet, beautiful. There are no cafes and restaurants, no music thunders and no animators shout, there are no attractions and crowds of people. Only nature, benches and wonderful panoramas of the Black Sea, framed by subtropical greenery.
The upper embankment is 30 meters above the promenade and stretches from the Festivalny Hall to the Winter Theater. From the sea to it you can climb the stairs. See where else you can take a walk in Sochi.
